Music for wedding ceremonies.

When you have made your choice as to how long you will require daytime music, a popular arrangement is to have more formal music early on while your guests are arriving, special songs for the ceremony, and more lively modern music after your ceremony leading up until your wedding breakfast.

During the arrival of your guests at your venue dramatic and elegant songs will add a memorable touch to the occasion. Some suggestions would be,

El Sonido del Silencio. Simon and Garfunkel. This is my Spanish arrangement of the Sound of Silence.

Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Pelagia's song.

Whilst of course we will want to create a unique combination of music, there are some pieces which I have found will work particularly well at certain points in your ceremony.

These selections will help you choose pieces of music for the moments which you have not already decided upon. 

For when your guests are being seated around the aisle and until the registrar's commence proceedings; generally more formal music and classical pieces such as,

Moonlight sonata. Ludwig van Beethoven.

Love theme from the Godfather. Nina Rota.

For the arrival of the bride (the processional); this will be the emotional highlight of the day and should be something romantic and pretty for example,

During the signing of the register; atmospheric mood music works well. I find very often two songs are needed at this point such as,

The exit of the couple (sometimes referred to as the recessional); any strident and uplifting music is suitable,

Wedding March. Felix Mendelssohn.

Tarantella. Traditional Italian wedding march played on the Mandolin.

For the music after your ceremony and leading up until your wedding breakfast I would suggest songs such as,

mixed with other famous and popular songs.

Whatever music you choose, I will always remember that it is your day and you should have it exactly as you like.
